North West law firm SAS Daniels LLP has advised Warrington-based fertility research company Reproductive Sciences Ltd (RSL) on a £600,000 fund raising exercise.
The funds, which have been raised through a rights issue, will provide RSL with additional working capital to complete extensive clinical trials and take advantage of further opportunities for growth.
RSL was formed in 2007 and develops medical devices designed to improve the success rate of fertility treatments, including an innovative slow-release insemination pump called the EVIE, which significantly increases pregnancy success rates compared with those of the standard intrauterine insemination (IUI) technique. Earlier studies indicate that the EVIE may increase success rates by a factor of up to three times those of standard IUI techniques, making it a highly significant alternative to standard IUI and may prevent the need for couples to seek more invasive and expensive artificial reproductive therapies.
Jeremy Orrell, partner at SAS Daniels, said: “We’re delighted to have helped RSL bring this fundraising exercise to fruition. The new working working capital will give the business the final boost required to bring ground breaking products to the market worldwide.”
RSL was advised by Jeremy Orrell and Jamie Cooper from SAS Daniels’ corporate team.
