North West law firm, SAS Daniels LLP, has named Hospice of the Good Shepherd as its charity of the year.
Based in Chester, Hospice of the Good Shepherd helps to improve the quality of life for those living with an incurable illness by providing specialist palliative and respite care as well as supporting families, friends and carers.
Fundraisers from The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, will visit SAS Daniels’ offices in, Stockport, Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton to talk to the staff about the charity and discuss ways in which the firm can help them. This could include anything from fundraising activity such as dress down days, cake sales or sponsorship of local events, to voluntary work such as helping the charity improve their ‘Memory Rose Garden’.
SAS Daniels selected the hospice to be their charity of the year by encouraging their staff members to suggest Cheshire based charities to be considered. All of these suggestions went through a careful selection process by the Corporate Social Responsibility team until there was a choice of four charities, which then went to vote by employees.
Commenting on the partnership, the Head of CSR at SAS Daniels said: “We are very pleased to be working with Hospice of the Good Shepherd, not only to help them raise funds but to support them in the local community by volunteering and helping out where we can.
They went on to say, “We have seen first hand the enormous benefit the hospice has to families who are supporting their loved ones and also those who are living with an incurable disease and it is quite simply a resource that is fundamental to people in the local area. We believe that it’s important we work together with local organisations to ensure the best treatment and care is available for those who need it most.”
Phil Crawford, Hospice Fundraiser said, “We have discussed ideas with the team at SAS Daniels and we are excited about working together on lots of things including volunteering days and involvement in some of our key events. We are delighted to be working with SAS Daniels for the next 12 months, which is also very important year for the Hospice, as we celebrate 25 years”.
