SAS Daniels celebrates the cream of Cheshire’s businesses

As headline sponsor of the prestigious 2014 Cheshire Business Awards, we joined over 260 guests on the evening of Friday 3 October, to recognise the crème de la crème of Cheshire’s business community.

Chester CathedralThe event took place in the stunning setting of Chester Cathedral, with ITV’s Lucy Meacock as guest presenter. The evening saw twelve accolades being presented across a range of categories.

The SAS Daniels LLP Business Person of the Year was awarded to Richard Thomas of Chester Race Company and was presented by Jeremy Orrell, Head of the Corporate team at SAS Daniels and Kaye Whitby, Head of the Commercial team at SAS Daniels and collected by Kate Dawson from Chester Race Company, pictured below left.

Business Person of the YearThe Cheshire West and Chester Business Start Up Award went to Lawyer Checker and the Inspiring Apprenticeships Award was picked up by Weaver Vale Housing Trust.

The Scottish Power Business of the Year (up to 10 employees) went to Training Bytesize, while Tyres On The Drive picked up Business of the Year Award (11 to 50 employees).

The winner of the Metronet (UK) Business of the Year (over 50 employees) was New Moon Pub Company. Recognising entrepreneurial flair, the Innovation and Enterprise Award went to Delamere Dairy and the Employer of the Year accolade was awarded to Your Housing Group, pictured below with Andy Phelan from Trinity Mirror.

DSC_0108Responsible businesses were also acknowledged, with The Greener Group winning the Mersey Forest Green Business Award and Anthony’s Travel scooping the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award.

Recognising budding talent, the Bentley Motors Young Business Person of the Year award went to Emma Cornes for her British tweed bags, while the Judges Choice Award was presented to Chateau de Sable pictured below.
