On Sunday 29 June, local law firm, SAS Daniels, proudly sponsored a Family Fun Day at Glebe Farm, Astbury. The event, which was organised by Congleton Lions Club, raised over £600 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Families enjoyed fund raising stalls including face painting, tombola, chuck a duck, human fruit machine, snail racing and jujitsu demonstrations. There was music from the U3A Can’t Sing Choir and Beartown Ukuleles. As well as free attractions like croquet, sack races and egg and spoon races.
In addition, children were able to meet the farm animals, including little piglets, donkeys, sheep, alpacas and ponies as well as visiting the many shops and coffee shop on-site.
All funds raised on the day went towards supporting the care of 12 year old William Dinnis, who is affected by a kidney condition called Nephrotic Syndrome.
Commenting on the event, Helen Gowin, from SAS Daniels LLP, said: “We were delighted to have been able to support this inspired family fun day and raise funds for RMCH, which is a cause that is close to so many people’s hearts in this area.”
Martin Kay, a representative from Congleton Lions Club, added: “It was great to see so many families, businesses and community organisations coming together in this way for what was a fun-filled day to support William and his family.”
