Marketing Apprentice

We are seeking a Marketing Apprentice to work with our Marketing team at our Stockport office. Candidates can expect a competitive salary for Apprenticeships, together with a full range of benefits and genuine career prospects.

Entry requirements:

  • Three A levels or equivalent (grade C or above) and a minimum A-C/Grade 4 and above in English and Maths at GCSE, if direct entry from school or college.

Job description:

Purpose of the job:

  • The primary purpose of this role is to support the day to day marketing requirements of the firm.
  • The role will require the post holder to deliver work under the close supervision of the Marketing Executive (who is supported by the Marketing Manager) across a range of areas.

Key responsibilities (not an exhaustive list):

  • Internal Communications – developing content and coordinating key stakeholders to deliver a monthly staff newsletter. Involvement in developing a new intranet for the firm.
  • Advertising – liaising with team heads to agree content and delivering to deadline.
  • Sponsorship – involvement in key sponsorship arrangements for the firm.
  • Website – helping coordinate SEO, PPC and email marketing campaigns and developing web content.
  • Brand Development – checking collateral against brand guidelines.
  • Marketing comms – proofreading and liaising with printers.
  • Events – coordination of the firm’s annual event programme.
  • Client feedback – being responsible for the firm’s client feedback process and working with the Business Analyst to integrate the current process online.
  • Directories – coordinating and maintaining content.
  • Ad hoc projects as required by the firm.

Skills & attitude:

  • The post holder will be proficient in all Microsoft Office software and will be expected to work at an Intermediate/Advanced level with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They will also be required to use the website’s Content Management System, and CRM software.
  • They should have a positive, can do attitude and be consistently professional to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • The candidate will need to be good at planning ahead and achieving deadlines.
  • The candidate will need to be organised as the job often requires managing a number of projects at the same time.

Experience & education:

  • Given the nature of the role, the post holder may have had some marketing experience, including specific professional services exposure. But more important is the right attitude, enthusiasm and a desire to learn.

Support:

  • Report to the Marketing Manager and be supported by the Marketing Executive.

Private Client Associate Solicitor

We are seeking a full time fee earner at Associate level, for our Chester office, who is a general private client solicitor and who can deal with all aspects of private client work. This will ensure that any private client work generated from our Chester office can be dealt with by a fee earner based in that office.

Job description:

  • Reporting to: Partner
  • Salary range: Competitive and at the market rate (dependent on experience)

Purpose of the job:

  • To undertake fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the team.
  • To ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the team and firm business plans.

Key responsibilities (not an exhaustive list):

  • Conduct of matters on behalf of clients accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm’s quality and risk management procedures (Lexcel and SRA Code of Conduct).
  • To generate fee income and ensure proper control of time recording, work in progress, billing and cash collection in line with agreed targets unless exceptional circumstances apply.
  • Take an active part in business development opportunities on behalf of the team and firm.
  • Supervision and support of fee earning work undertaken by colleagues to cover absence and holidays for example.
  • Supervision of other fee earning colleagues if required.
  • Participation in marketing activities whether on a firm wide, group or office basis.
  • Attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
  • Manage the preparation of correspondence and documents through the case management system (Seneca).
  • Manage filing in both the paper and Seneca file which may include filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the procedures contained in the office manual.
  • Attendance and participation at group meetings.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Be effective in developing new work from existing clients and seek new clients for themselves and others.
  • Maintain and nurture an appropriate network of contacts and referrers and endeavour to promote the firm in your professional and personal life.
  • Gain and maintain good IT and telephone skills appropriate to modern legal practice; such as the ability to use the case management system and other standard applications, record time, use e-mail, conduct research on the internet and use office facilities and the phone system.
  • Add support to the Chester office and help the Private Client team build on their presence at Chester.

Skills & attitude:

  • In tune with the firm’s mission statement and core values and committed to demonstrating and developing these.
  • A team player within the Private Client team and the firm as a whole.
  • Efficient, well organised, and timely.
  • Effective communicator by telephone, face to face and in writing.

Experience & education:

  • Admitted as a solicitor or legal executive or equivalent.
  • Experience and relevant qualifications for the team.
  • 3 years’ PQE and above.
  • Must be experienced in wills and estate planning, estate administration and trusts work, together with Lasting Powers of Attorney.  They should preferably already be a member of STEP.

  • Report to and be supported by the Team Head.
