Procurement and Contracts

We advise and provide solutions on procurement, contract strategy, risk allocation and contract drafting and negotiation. We provide suitable contracts to both fit with the commercial approach to the project and protect your interests. Our experience gives us the in-depth know-how to advise at a strategic level and to assess the specific risks with you. This means that each project reflects the risks that you as an employer are asking the market to price and programme and the risks that contractors and sub-contractors can accept.

Additional factors apply where either there is the intention to continue work together on a long term basis or the contract creates a long term relationship, rather than just for a single project. We also advise on the effect of EU Procurement law on the procurement process.

We work closely with clients and with your selected project managers and quantity surveyors as a team in order to put a procurement approach to the market that will not delay obtaining bids from contractors and their sub-contractors. We also advise contractors and sub-contractors on the risks in contracts and sub-contracts and take a commercial approach as to how they can be addressed.

We work across all sectors including:

  • Developers and house builders;
  • Office buildings, both new and refurbished;
  • Education facilities for schools, sixth form colleges and universities;
  • Logistics providers and warehouse requirements;
  • Manufacturing facilities;
  • Food production facilities;
  • Industrial facilities;
  • Building maintenance contracts;
  • Renewable energy.
