Dedication to our local communities
At SAS Daniels LLP, we know how important it is to support our local communities. That’s why we have a dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility committee made up of a team of volunteers within the firm, who focus on ways in which we can make a difference in the areas that we serve – Stockport, Macclesfield, Chester and Congleton.
As in everything we do, we seek ways that go above and beyond to add value where we can. We recognise that corporate social responsibility goes way beyond charitable fundraising and is about having a corporate conscience, embracing responsibility for our actions and encouraging a positive impact on our environment, clients, employees and communities.
We will seek to have a positive impact on our surrounding areas and the people living and working within them.
Our policy is made up of five key areas which are explained below:
Each year we will nominate a charity, local to one or more of our office locations, to receive any funds we raise as a firm. In addition to raising funds, we will help out by giving our time to add value to the charity – anything from gardening and decorating their premises to helping out at events.
We also hold a monthly ‘dress down day’ across the firm to help raise money for our chosen charity of the year and hold regular fundraising events such as office bingo, cake salesand a sponsored walk
2. Developing our future generations
We aim to help the young people within our communities and our employees and will look to do this in a number of ways including:
- Reading in our local primary schools;
- Mentoring / coaching students in our local colleges;
- Participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme;
- Offering a Trainee Solicitor Programme, Vacation Scheme and Legal Apprenticeships;
- Employee mentoring.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and making positive changes to benefit the environment and our local communities.
4. Skill sharing
Going the extra mile and sharing our knowledge is important to us as a firm and we are committed to supporting local charities and projects where appropriate. We have a number of employees who are trustees for charities or who are involved in schemes where our knowledge is of value.
We also host and are involved in a number of free seminars and events to specially invited groups, to help share new legislation or to help equip people with the right knowledge – from Employment Law seminars for businesses to future planning events for individuals and families.
5. Projects for local communities
We actively seek potential projects we can get involved in within the communities we serve. We will also encourage and support our staff who undertake voluntary work or raise funds for charities of their own choice.
