Developing our Future Generations

Mentoring

We have been involved in mentoring college students both in Chester and Stockport.

During 2013/14 we had a mentoring scheme in place with Stockport College, where SAS Daniels’ employees attended the college to mentor students. All students who had mentors from the firm during this time, went on to complete their courses successfully and moved into paid employment. Some of the students considered future courses that they felt would enhance their career prospects, which would be combined with full time work.

We also have a robust internal mentoring programme which helps to further develop our employees.

Young Enterprise Scheme

The Young Enterprise Scheme is a great way to teach young people about life in the outside world of business life. Our role is to support and encourage young people and to give them knowledge that can help them feel confident to look ahead to their futures. There are many ways in which we aim to be involved from teaching younger children about business within their communities, to educating young students.

Legal Apprenticeship Scheme

In 2013 we were one of the first law firms in the country and the first law firm in Stockport to take on legal apprentices. Our commitment to apprenticeships was recognised with a ‘Working with Young People’ bronze award from Stockport MBC in 2014. All legal apprenticeships have excellent training at the Manchester Metropolitan University prior to working with us. Find out more about our Legal Apprenticeship Scheme.

Trainee Solicitor Programme

Our Trainee Solicitor Programme was launched over 20 years ago and sees us recruit two to three trainees each year. As part of our growth strategy, we develop our trainees into the experienced and knowledgeable solicitors that we require for our clients, and we expect to offer permanent placements in return. They are the partners of our future. Over the last 10 years, we have offered full time posts to nearly 95% of our trainees. Find out more about our Trainee Solicitor Programme.

Work Experience Scheme

We are committed to working with schools across Stockport and we take school aged children onto our Work Experience Scheme right throughout the year to help them gain some fundamental skills needed in a working environment.
