Our Wills & Wealth Planning team assisted clients who had been married previously, with making wills to provide for their current spouse, as well as for their own children from their previous relationships. We looked at the assets in the estate and divided them to reflect what they each brought in to the marriage, including changing the way they owned their house. We then implemented bespoke trusts into their wills to ensure that the children were provided for in the proportions which they intended after both deaths. We also added specific wishes for the trustees to carry out on behalf of the clients as to how the funds are to be used and when. This way, the clients keep full control of their assets whilst they are alive should they ever need to use them, whilst passing on what they have left after they have died.
