Our Employment Law & HR Group Manager, Katie Hodson, recently featured in an article by HR Grapevine, discussing how HR can face the threat of an employee mental health crisis in the workplace. Read her comments below, and see the full article here.
“An employer has the same health and safety responsibilities and duty of care for staff whether they are remotely working or working in the office.
HR should not forget the impact homeworking can have on an employee’s mental health. It is important to ensure that they are not isolated at home and there should be regular contact with them so they feel included. Regular contact also means that if an employee is exhibiting signs of stress or anxiety, this can be identified and managed as early as possible to prevent escalation to more serious mental health issues.”
