North West law firm SAS Daniels has appointed Paul Tyrer as an Associate Solicitor within its Corporate and Commercial team. Paul brings to the firm nearly 20 years experience in corporate acquisitions and disposals as well as specialisms in banking and funding deals; pharmacy and healthcare work. As a resident of Congleton, Paul will support the firm’s corporate and commercial team located in the town, as well as in Macclesfield and further across East Cheshire.
Paul’s appointment follows a period of high growth for SAS Daniels’ Corporate and Commercial practice. The team, which supports clients from all four of the firm’s offices in Macclesfield, Chester, Congleton and Stockport, has witnessed a 20% increase in revenue from 2014 to 2015.
Jeremy Orrell, Finance Partner and head of the Corporate team comments, “2015 has been a record year for the Corporate and Commercial team. We’ve completed 30 deals last year worth £160m and have ambitious growth plans for 2016. Paul’s appointment will support that growth as well as increase the specialisms that we’re able to offer clients ensuring that we continue to excel at being ‘no ordinary law firm’.”
Paul joins SAS Daniels from Manchester city centre based Birchall Blackburn Law where he was head of the Corporate and Commercial practice. Paul has previously held positions at DWF, Andersen Legal, and George Davies Solicitors (now part of Mills & Reeve). It was at the latter that he built up a reputation for managing pharmacy and healthcare deals having helped clients buy or sell over 100 pharmacies during his time at the firm. He also spent three years focusing specifically on the local banking sector, working for clients including Santander, Bank of Scotland, Cheshire Building Society and Yorkshire Bank.
Paul Tyrer, Associate Solicitor, adds, “ Having grown up in Macclesfield and having been a long time resident of Congleton I welcome the opportunity to return to my roots and support local businesses in both towns. The team at SAS Daniels has ambitious growth targets and we share a similar and like-minded ethos in our approach to clients. I’m looking forward to supporting that growth and delivering the ‘no ordinary law firm’ value by exceeding client expectations.”
The Corporate and Commercial team’s clients include Pentre Holdings Limited, South Staffordshire PLC, Rowlinson Knitwear and Training 2000 Limited.
