Commenting on the firm’s success, Jeremy Orrell, Head of the Corporate team and Finance Partner at SAS Daniels, said: “It is encouraging that we have been able to maintain this high level of growth. It has been an exciting year for the firm; in addition to achieving record financial results, we have also attained the Investors in People Gold Standard and invested £150,000 refurbishing our relocated offices in Congleton and Macclesfield.”

SAS Daniels’ Corporate team has been working at capacity throughout the year and has completed 40 deals during that period, including the sale of JD Horizons to Croda International, the acquisition of Weetwood Ales by Cheshire Cat Management, the sale of Hall Analytical to Crawford Scientific, the acquisition of Beamsmoor Care by Premier Care and the sale of Voice Marketing to Capita. Jeremy adds: “While undoubtedly we have benefited from the improvement in the deals market, our strong relationships with clients and other professionals in the sector has helped drive this growth.”

The firm’s Employment team continues to build service offerings for the small business and education sectors and has overcome the national decline in tribunal activity, through an increase in demand for its fixed price employment law and HR support packages. Income from its HR solutions service grew by a record 30%, and more than 20 new schools signed up to its employment law and HR support service, SAS Protect for Schools during the year.

The continued upturn in the property sector and increased funding by institutional lenders supported the strong growth for SAS Daniels’ Commercial and Residential Real Estate teams, with income growing by 25%.

The Commercial Real Estate team’s impressive result is down to building a targeted service for mid-sized firms that covers development, construction, corporate and insolvency support. The team has also secured a number of key client wins during the year including water utility company, South Staffordshire PLC and a number of key developers. The Residential Conveyancing team has also been particularly successful, with a 30% year-on-year increase in fees, attributable to developing a wider network of agents and high levels of service delivery.

Orrell concluded: “Our ongoing strategy focuses on growing the business from the inside and this has allowed us to build targeted service offerings across all practice areas. Our year-on-year growth is testimony to our ability to deliver on our vision of being ‘No ordinary law firm’. We look forward to continuing the growth trajectory with some exciting announcements such as new clients and appointments in the forthcoming months.”
