Leading Cheshire law firm, SAS Daniels LLP has won ‘The Award for Developing Young People’ at the recent Stockport Business Awards.
SAS Daniels is committed to working with young people and was one of the first businesses in the UK to take on legal apprentices. It currently employs five trainee solicitors and five apprentices all of whom are being trained for their future legal careers by SAS Daniels in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU).
Last year the law firm hosted over 20 students on work experience placements. It also works with law undergraduates at the MMU Faculty of Law and mentors students at Stockport College.
Chris Swerling, Head of HR at SAS Daniels said: “We are very proud to have received this fantastic award that recognises our genuine commitment and contribution to developing and retaining young business talent right here in Stockport.
“The Stockport Business Awards judges declared us as the ‘stand out’ winners for enabling young people to achieve their full potential across the firm from apprenticeships and NVQs through to full legal careers.
“We recognise that these talented young individuals are the future of our business and we will continue to invest in and nurture young talent and encourage them to fulfil their potential.”
SAS Daniels was also delighted to see its clients and fellow Stockport residents Robinson’s Brewery win the ‘Special Recognition Award’ and Rowlinson Knitwear win the award for ‘Employer of Year’.
