What to expect during your Training Contract
During your two year Training Contract, you will complete four six-month seats and have the opportunity to choose from a range of service areas across our full range of business groups which are:
- Corporate & Commercial;
- Dispute Resolution;
- Employment Law & HR;
- Property – Commercial & Residential;
- Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury;
- Personal & Family Law – Estate Administration & Probate, Elderly, Care & Mental Capacity, Wills & Wealth Planning, Trusts and Family Law.
As you progress through your training we will discuss with you which seat interests you the most and aim to place you with that team. However, we cannot promise to match you with your first choice each time.
You will be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of contentious and non-contentious legal work to enable you to gain a board experience and get a feel for which area of law best fit your interests and abilities.
From acceptance of a place on our Trainee Programme we will provide you with a ‘buddy’ to keep you informed of upcoming news and events at SAS Daniels and to support you through your preparation before joining us as a Trainee Solicitor. We offer client contact early on in your contract and the opportunity to develop your legal skills as well as client facing and business development skills.

Applications and timescales
- We offer at least two Training Contracts each year;
- There is an expected minimum qualification of a 2.1 degree (anticipated or achieved).

We will acknowledge your application has been received by us. However, due to the number of applications we received each year we will only contact you if you have been selected to attend the interview stage.
Our Training Contract application deadlines are as follows:
- Applications for Training Contracts commencing September 2018 have now been appointed;
- Applications for September 2019 are now open and will close Friday, 9 March 2018.
If you have already submitted an application for a Training Contract commencing September 2019 the Training Contract appointments will be made on the basis of interviews and a group assessment day. It is proposed that the interviews and assessment day will take place between Monday, 9 April 2018 to Friday, 11 May 2018. We will confirm the exact dates if you have been selected for an interview. Please be aware that we are unable to offer alternative dates for interviews / assessments due to availability of the panel.
