TUPE refers to the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006.
They apply to businesses of all sizes and protect employees’ rights when the business or service they work for transfers to a new business.
The TUPE regulations can apply when a company is sold, activities are outsourced, brought in-house, transferred or a contract for services is moved from one provider to another. As a full service law firm, we are able to work closely with our specialist Corporate team to ensure that all aspects of a commercial transaction are completed in a consistent, joined up and efficient way, rather than having to outsource any element of the legal work to another legal provider.
As well as providing pragmatic advice throughout the transaction and drafting the necessary correspondence to ensure employees are properly informed and consulted with about the TUPE process, our experienced HR advisers can also provide on-site support during consultation meetings with employees.
