We act for a particular client who owns a number of separate businesses operating within the healthcare sector.

Our client asked if we could provide practical training to the managers of each individual business, to enable them to properly deal with HR issues.

Our first priority was to ensure that we had an in-depth understanding of each business, their specific requirements and the subtle differences between them. Once we had a better understanding of both the individual and collective challenges the businesses were facing, we could identify the training required to rectify these issues.

In a recent tribunal case we successfully defended a business facing claims of unfair dismissal and disability discrimination from a former employee.

The employee had worked for our client in a manual handling role and had been signed off sick due to back pain and depression.

In an attempt to facilitate the employee’s return to work, our client obtained several medical reports which confirmed that the employee’s health issues were not permanent, were treatable and that he was fit to return to the job he was employed to do.
